About Collaborative Innovations

Collaborative Innovations is a Micro ISV (independent software vendor) founded by Eric Legault, a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional for Office Systems: Outlook.

For the past 16 years of my career, I have worked exclusively with Microsoft technologies as a software developer, consultant, speaker, author, community leader, marketer and technical evangelist either independently or for various Microsoft Certified Partners. I have also been an MVP for Outlook since 2003.

My primary focus is with Microsoft Messaging and Collaboration solutions. I have been involved in numerous projects delivering business process integration applications as well as document, content and knowledge management solutions utilizing products and tools such as the Microsoft Office system (particularly Outlook), Visual Studio, SharePoint, Exchange Server and SQL Server. As a developer, I have significant expertise building messaging and collaboration solutions using Visual Studio, especially with the VSTO (Visual Studio Tools for Office) and Add-In Express frameworks and have completed dozens of Outlook COM Add-Ins and other Outlook/Exchange integration applications for clients around the world. Furthermore, I have been extensively involved with SharePoint (since the beta release of SharePoint Portal Server 2001), with the completion of numerous enterprise projects covering planning and architecture, upgrade/migration, deployment, administration, training, branding/design and development for SharePoint Portal Server 2003/WSS 2.0, MOSS 2007/WSS 3.0 and SharePoint 2010.

As a long time MVP I have maintained a highly visible and respected role as a subject matter expert and community influencer by sharing my expertise through conference presentations, published materials, technical newsgroups and forums, social networking, webinars and my blog. I’ve also spoken at conferences around the world, am a co-founder of the Winnipeg SharePoint User Group, and I have written articles for MSDN, Microsoft Office Online, Windows IT Pro magazine, various technology e-newsletters and have edited books on Outlook, SharePoint and Access.
